An Appalachian Eatery for the Wild at Heart

Local Food & Drink

Elevated Appalachian Cuisine

We believe that everyone deserves to eat good food. That means they deserve the best ingredients served with the care and hospitality you can only experience in Appalachia. Most of our meats and veggies are purchased locally, and our menu changes with the season. These are the recipes you were raised on, prepared in ways that make them feel new again.

Locally Produced Beer and Spirits

Every great meal deserves an equally good and expertly paired drink to wash it down. It is our goal to serve the best selection of West Virginia libations in the area alongside your old favorites. Want a custom cocktail, just ask. But if you want the true Vagabond experience, take a look at our featured drinks. They rotate seasonally, but you just might find a new favorite.

Bespoke Dinners & Events

Every true Vagabond loves a good party, and we're no different. If you're looking for a fresh and exciting way to make your next shindig stand out, consider a bespoke menu created and prepared by Chef Matt Welsch himself. Chef Matt brings his award-winning menu creation and signature personality to this brand-new venture. Vagabonds love to travel. We come to you.

About Us

The Vagabond Way

There is nothing that can tell you more about a place, a culture, and the people that live there than the food that they eat and the way that they eat it.

We started the Vagabond Kitchen with the idea that every place has its story to tell, and at our best, each of those traditions has something to teach the others.

Here at the Vagabond Kitchen, we prepare what we know, the recipes and traditions that were passed down to us by our ancestors. But the way we approach our food has been inspired by the places we've visited, the people we've met, and the food we've shared.

That is the Vagabond Way -- to enrich what we know with the things that we learn along the way.
